We will also explain to you what the changeover process will be for your specific premises.

With regard to switching to electric hot water, you have the option of moving to an infinity electric system, an electric hot water cylinder (placed indoors or outdoors), or an electric hot water heat pump system.

  • Electrical upgrade and wiring

    An electric water heater requires a dedicated power supply. This means additional wiring will need to be installed to handle the extra electrical load. A new cable will be connected to your existing switchboard and meter, ensuring the system runs reliably and safely. We coordinate this work with a licensed electrician, so everything is taken care of on the day of installation.

  • Gas disconnection and safety

    If your gas hot water system is your last remaining gas appliance, your property’s gas network connection must be professionally capped off by a registered gasfitter. We arrange this as part of our service. If you still have other gas appliances in your home, we’ll simply isolate and safely disconnect the supply to your gas hot water system while leaving your other gas appliances unaffected.

  • Electric hot water system installation

    On the day, we will remove your existing gas water heating system and install the new electric water heating system, connecting to your home’s plumbing and electrical setup. All fittings, valves, and pipework are checked to meet safety and compliance standards.

  • Timeframe and convenience

    In most cases, the full hot water system changeover from gas to electric can be completed within a single day. This minimises disruption to your household and means you’re not left without hot water overnight. We’ll confirm the expected timeframe with you during our initial site visit.

  • End-to-end service

    From organising the electrician and gasfitter through to installation and testing, we manage the entire process for you. Our approach is to complete the task properly, safely, and without unnecessary delays. We also dispose of all removed appliances, fixtures and fittings.

We turned to Plumb after our experience with a previous plumbing company left us dismayed at their poor communication, selective interpretation of reality [and a selective memory], and a disturbing ability to charge like a wounded bill [despite their work being excellent]. Plumb: - Communicates effectively - Isn't disconnected from reality - Charges fairly and clearly communicates costs. With respect to the plumber who attended the job. Arthur was - in a word - awesome. He explained things clearly and demonstrated quick/ emergency fixes to ameliorate having to deal with another flood Was good humoured, patient and didn't make me feel like an idiot when I missed obvious problems in lodging the call. As I said to him at the time, training is great, but experience wins out every time. Would use Plumb again. Would recommend a 100%

Couldn't recommend highly enough! Craig came out on a Sunday to fix my leaking hot water cylinder, was upfront about the cost from the start and went above and beyond. He was friendly, great to chat to and took the time to show me where my water mains were and how to turn everything off in an emergency. I also really appreciated how fair and reasonable his pricing was after having recently paid another plumbing company more to replace a couple of toilet parts on a regular weekday.
